Jump starts & battery help
A dead battery usually announces itself: a single click when you turn the key, rapid clicking, a dashboard that flickers or dims, or an engine that turns over slowly and gives up. Cold Piedmont mornings are hard on weak batteries, and so are hot summers and lots of short trips. A jump start sends enough power to get the engine running so you can get moving. It won't fix every problem, though. If the car dies again soon after, the alternator may not be charging, or the battery may be past its life. Many batteries last three to five years. Once you're running, drive for a while and have the charging system tested soon. If a jump doesn't work, we can tow it to your shop.
